A beautiful copy in contemp. blind-stamped panelled full calf, with contrasting red morocco labels, slightly rubbed and marked on extremities.
Yarrell's classic survey was first published 1835-6 with two supplementary parts added in 1839. The present edition, in which some supposed species are suppressed and new ones added, contains in all two hundred and sixty species, with cuts of the new ones, and many additional ornamental vignettes. Includes memoir of the author and list of writings.
